Materializer

Customize materials and apply them to objects with materializer

Menu / Materializer

You can switch between 3 types of materials and change their properties. You can go from a matt, dark material to a shiny, bright one, to a shadowless, solid colored material in seconds.

1) Material panel. Setup your own material presets there

2) Color palette. Click on it to get a color in the material pen or the brush

3) Last color from color palette, along with white color & gray color samples

4) Color Slots. Apply colors to the slots for later use

5) Material Pen. Get and apply materials with it

6) Material preview orb. Press on it to get a material pen with that material

7) Material preview orb without colors

9) Action material buttons. Apply a material to all objects on the scene (without applying color) or set material as the default for new instances from the object shelf.

Material Pen

When you press on the color palette, color slots or a material orb you get a material pen. The material pen can set a given material and its color to objects.

You can switch between several modes of the material pen to work only with colors, or all material properties excluding colors. It's handy for when you want to colorize objects without changing all of their material properties and vice versa.

Set color only

When you take the pen from the color palette or color slots it applies only colors to objects without changing other material properties.

Material types

You can set different materials to an object:

  • Standard—a regular material

  • Unlit—making objects to have the same shading not matter shadows and light color

  • Toon—making objects to look more cartoony (only from the context menu)

  • Fog—making objects appear foggy

You can turn on the transparency toggle in the standard material and control the transparency with the slider.
